About Us
DotLit Press was founded in New Orleans in the spring of 2000, just as the dot com bubble was falling to pieces. A couple of hundred volumes later, conversion operations ceased and for a number of years the site provided Microsoft Reader formatted books free over the internet. The enthusiasm for eBooks waned and the MS Reader format withered.
DotLit Press disappeared from the commercial web about a year before Hurricane Katrina forced a relocation to Bristol, Rhode Island. With the arrival of the Sony eBook reader, Amazon's Kindle, and Barnes & Nobles' Nook, eBook interest is ramping up enough to bring back - albeit slowly - the DotLit Press colophon.
